Sheringham Point Lighthouse

Close-Up, Landscapes, Macro, Ocean

The Sheringham Point Lighthouse is located in Shirley, BC, proudly standing on a craggy look-out lighting the path for ships at sea;  serving Vancouver Island’s western coastline since 1912.  While protecting mariners in the Juan de Fuca Straight, it has withstood the test of time.  Three of my images depict a close-up of elements that have invariably weathered the storms.  The others convey a sense of loneliness, isolation, bitterness and vigilance.

Entranced by rural and urban decay. I am drawn to these forlorn sites because they emote conflicting sentiments of beauty and disintegration.
