Brass Hardware & Wood Grain

Close-Up, Macro

These close-up/macro shots are of the brass hardware on my dad’s writing desk.  This secretary once belonged to his mother and father and he acquired it when he left home.  My mom removed the black varnish years ago from its surface revealing the beautiful wood grain beneath the opaque exterior.

Entranced by rural and urban decay. I am drawn to these forlorn sites because they emote conflicting sentiments of beauty and disintegration.
