Antiquated

Abstract, Close-Up

I wanted to create an image that would appear to have been shot at a rural museum.  Mission accomplished.  I was asked many times at the artist festival, where I was selling my work, if I this shot was taken at the local museum.

I set this scene up at m_MG_6780 copyy father-in-law’s childhood home, a 100-year-old log house.  The old tin cans came from my mother-in-law’s  cold room.   I found the colander, the old grater and tin box in the log house’s dirt basement.  After wiping years of grime off the colander, I placed everything in a cupboard in the kitchen and shot away.

Entranced by rural and urban decay. I am drawn to these forlorn sites because they emote conflicting sentiments of beauty and disintegration.
