Downtown Victoria

Christmas, Landscapes
As I was taking these shots Wednesday evening, I could feel the Christmas spirit all around me.Three dragon boats sliced through the water as one of the boat’s crew was singing the carol “The Twelve Days of Christmas”.  To my right, the Delta hotel was playing Home Alone on a big screen outside for a large group of movie goers bundled up in blankets and sipping hot drinks.

The Parliament building downtown Victoria is decorated for the Christmas season with its lights casting a fantastic reflection on the water.

And in the second image, a couple of sailboats moored in Victoria’s Inner Harbour are festooned with lights.

Christmas is coming!

Entranced by rural and urban decay. I am drawn to these forlorn sites because they emote conflicting sentiments of beauty and disintegration.
