As part of our tour of the Big Muddy Badlands in southern Saskatchewan last month, we stopped in a tiny hamlet called Big Beaver.  As our group shopped at Aust’s General Store, I walked over to the abandoned curling rink armed with my camera and tripod to get a few shots in.

Entranced by rural and urban decay. I am drawn to these forlorn sites because they emote conflicting sentiments of beauty and disintegration.
