More Prairie Sunsets

Landscapes

I shot these in August of 2014 while visiting home. Due to the ongoing forest fires in the northern regions of the province, the sunsets were more subdued than normal. In the first image, the sky appears to have been brushed with the soft strokes of a brush.

In the second image the sky is less dramatic in appearance. This is because the photo was shot in northern Saskatchewan, where you can see the smoke blanketing the landscape in the horizon and partially blotting out the sun.

Entranced by rural and urban decay. I am drawn to these forlorn sites because they emote conflicting sentiments of beauty and disintegration.
