House with a Pink Kitchen

Architecture, Rural Decay

I love photographing these old abandoned houses. They exude so much character. Unfortunately this character comes with a price. Many of these derelict structures are unsafe to enter, so I must resist the temptation to obtain a better angle and photograph their interiors from broken windows or holes in the walls.

When I was standing by what must have been a picture window in its time, there were sounds coming from the second floor. It sounded like something walking on the floor above. I am assuming it was a small animal; however, for a split second my heart jumped into my throat wondering what else it could have been.

Entranced by rural and urban decay. I am drawn to these forlorn sites because they emote conflicting sentiments of beauty and disintegration.
