Boiler Room at the Gravelbourg Elementary School

Architecture, Gravelbourg, Historical Site, Urban Decay

The former convent school, Couvent Jésus Marie, still boasts its original layout and appearance. Up until a few days ago, it was still used as an elementary school for children in the Gravelbourg area.

The basement houses the boiler room, which is accessed by a long, crumbling tunnel beneath the earth. Once you emerge from the passage you enter a series of smaller rooms, which lead you to the expansive boiler room.

Entranced by rural and urban decay. I am drawn to these forlorn sites because they emote conflicting sentiments of beauty and disintegration.
