Solitude

Landscapes, Nature, Rural Decay

Once a year I try to go back to this old abandoned farmhouse that sits alone upon the hill. This particular summer evening I fought off a multitude of mosquitoes while hunched down in the luscious grass and wildflowers. The end product was well worth it.

Entranced by rural and urban decay. I am drawn to these forlorn sites because they emote conflicting sentiments of beauty and disintegration.

  1. I stumbled upon your amazing website & photos tonight, and started looking at recent blogs, and then was totally caught off guard by your photos of northern Saskatchewan. My mother moved to a nursing home in Rosthern recently and I was there to see her in late August and while there photographed a few derelict buildings of my own: Here is the Flickr link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/97184393@N03/albums/72157673379941075

I would love to be in touch at al.doerksen@gmail.com – I live in KW, Ontario.

    • Hi Al, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Thanks for taking the time to look at my images. Things have been a bit hectic for me as me recently moved and I started a new job. Thanks for sharing your images with me.
