Sophie and Charlie – Part 2

Here are Sophie and Charlie with their humans, Katie and Kevin. Sophie and Charlie share a special bond with Katie and Kevin and I would daresay identify themselves as part of the family. This comes as no surprise as research indicates that dogs have unique […]

Sophie and Charlie

Meet Sophie, the chocolate brown Boxer with white markings, and Charlie. I had the pleasure of photographing this pair last weekend on a gorgeous Sunday morning. I had a wonderful time following Sophie and Charlie around as they played and interacted with their owners.

Baby Robin

This baby Robin fell out of a tree at my parent’s and was hopping around the back yard. When my son first discovered it, the baby’s parents were nearby chirping away and swooping in. Later in the afternoon, I assume they abandoned their offspring, as […]

Farm Cat

The kids nicknamed this mother cat JDBBQ (Jack Daniels Bar-B-Q), after their favorite bar-b-q sauce. I called her to me by saying minou, minou, minou, which is french for kitty, kitty, kitty and less of a mouthful than repeating JDBBQ over and over again.

Crab

Crab

My son unceremoniously removed this little crab from its hiding place on Glass Beach.  As soon as the photo-op had passed, he gingerly placed him back under his rock.

Tropical Birds

Tropical Birds

So I thought I was having a tough time photographing the butterflies at the Butterfly Gardens, until I attempted shooting these tropical birds.  As soon as I would raise my camera, they would turn their backs on me or try to hide in the foliage.  What […]

Birds of a Feather

Birds of a Feather

Birds of a feather, indeed flock together.  On the banks of Esquimalt Lagoon (Vancouver Island) you will find flocks of geese, swans, ducks, seabirds and many more species I can’t identify. While out shooting, I was utterly entertained by the birds’ behaviour as a woman was feeding them.  […]
